It looks like in Tiger Apple has made some changes to the keyboard shortcut for getting information about a file. Holding down Cmd + i has always brought up a window with file information. If you have multiple items selected, Tiger now brings up a separate window for each item, like it used to work under OS9. If you want information on all the items combined you now hold down Command + Option + i.
