East Troy, Wisconsin

Our view of the lake in East Troy, Wisconsin

Well, we’re back from Wisconsin. We were staying at anne marie’s parent’s, in East Troy. This was the view we woke up to every morning… it was awesome. We got to visit with anne marie’s family, and do a little sight seeing. We visited the Johnson Wax building (frank lloyd wright) in Racine, had frozen custard, and giant burgers at Kopps, and pizza at one of anne marie’s favorite places in Milwaukee. We also cruized around the lake in her father’s boat. All-in-all a pretty good trip.

Baker Beach

Baker Beach, San Francisco

We went out to Baker Beach on Sunday for a couple of hours to give Emmitt some time out of the house. We had a nice walk. The beach is dog friendly, but you have to keep them on a leash. I want to go back on a sunny day to get a good view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

The far end of the beach (towards the bridge) is the nude area. Apparently it isn’t officially nude, it’s just sort of tollerated. Maybe we’ll have to check that out sometime. :)

Portland Trip

Portland, Oregon - Columbia River Gorge

I took another break from blogging because we were up in Portland, Oregon… visiting a good friend of mine. We had a lot of fun. We went to the Bridgeport Brewery, Blue Moon, The Zen Garden, The Columbia Gorge, Powell Bookstore, and saw Garden State again. It was a really great trip, I wish we would have had more time.

July 4th in Kirkwood

anne marie in kirkwood

We had the opportunity to spend the 4th of July weekend in Kirkwood. A friend has a condo there. Kirkwood is a resort town about 3.5 hours north-east of San Francisco, in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

It is really beautiful up there. Emmitt (our dog) had one of the best times of his life exploring a giant meadow. He was a happy dog. We rode the chair-lift to the top of the mountain, it was a spectacular view.

Fun in San Diego

anne marie on Mission Beach

We just got back from San Diego for a long-weekend vacation. It was great! Although we did have a bit of ‘June Gloom’. It was a bit chilly and overcast most of the time, but we still had a lot of fun relaxing on the beach. We visiteted the old favorites… Kono’s for Breakfast, Luigees (sp?) for pizza, and plenty of Dairy Queen stops. We also tried a new place, ‘Gringo’s’, for dinner one night. They have great food and really good Margaritas.

Unfortunately, my back went out again as soon as we got back home :(
