Win friends, intimidate enemies, and score big with the ladies by hauling your twenty-five pound iMac, keyboard, and mouse down to you local coffeeshop. What was this guy thinking? I know the iMacs are small, but give me a break.
Thanks Tian.

So one thing I have noticed since I moved to San Francisco, the people here are wimps when it comes to temperature.
Basically, anything below 70° is treated as if it were arctic outside, and anything above 80° is a heat wave. It’s not uncommon for me to be out in shorts and a t-shirt, and see others in heavy winter parkas… like this guy. Now, I don’t know if he was actually a real San Francisco wimp, or he was just crazy. We do have an abundance of crazy people here, and they like to wear their winter coats no matter what the temperature.

Today we went out to Fort Funston to give Emmitt (our dog) a run. We were walking down the beach, when I happened to come across a light bulb. What a strange thing to find on a beach I thought. Fort Funston isn’t exactly remote, but there isn’t much around the water that it could have come from. (There’s a wider shot of the beach on this post.)
I started to wonder about the origin of the bulb. Did someone actually bring a light bulb to the beach? Is that person now missing their favorite bulb? Did this delicate piece of glass manage to travel hundreds, or even thousands of miles across the open sea, only to wash up on our shore without getting so much as a crack? Is it a remnant of an ancient, advanced civilization… buried in the sand for thousands of years?
Unfortunately, I’ll probably never know.

Recently the Powell St. Bart Station was taken over by Southpark posters. Every frame has a slight variation on the poster. Usually these frames are reserved for iPod ads. I can’t be sure about this, but I think San Francisco is the unofficial iPod capitol of the world.
I’m not against Southpark, but I’m really more of a Simpsons, or Family Guy fan.

On Saturday, we took a drive across the bay to Marin. On our way out we stopped at a Jack in the Box on 11th Ave. and Geary. They had this bizarre security pass-through. I’ve never seen anything like it at a fast food restaurant. It was made of 1.5 inch Plexiglas, had a locking door on each side, and could hold one tray. Has anyone else seen these?

Ever wonder how they wash windows on multi-story apartments? I saw this guy while I was out and about today. I’m glad that’s not my job.

Totally unrelated to my last post, I came across this billboard not to far from our house. I think it’s on 13th, somewhere around Harrison (near the Best Buy). I have no idea what exactly it’s for. There’s no other information on or around the sign.

I found this image over at the cool hunter. It’s from a current Nike advertising project.
