Picnik photo editor

I really am amazed at the power of some of today’s online tools. Picnik is a perfect example. It’s an online photo editor that is completely free to use.

Picnik covers all the photo-editing basics. You select an image from you local drive (or a website), and then you can rotate, crop, color correct, add borders and special effects, etc…. When you’re done, you can save it back to your drive, post it directly to your flickr or Picasa account, email it, or print it… all from within your browser. It really is amazing.

Since I have Photoshop, I don’t normally have a big need for Picnik, but it’s perfect for budding photographers who haven’t yet invested in software, or for anyone who finds themselves in need of an editor while they are using someone else’s computer.
