Star Trek 11… in 2008

Kirk and Spock

CNN is reporting a new Star trek movie will be released in the fall of 2008. It will be the 11th Star Trek movie since 1979. The film doesn’t have a name yet, but is said to revolve around the early days of James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock… chronologically, before the original series took place.

It will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who recently finished Mission Impossible III. Abrams is also known for producing the TV shows “Alias” and “Lost”.

I am a huge Star trek fan, so I’m going to reserve judgment on this… I’ll go see it regardless, but it could really suck.

If you’re a fan of the original show, you can pick up the complete series on DVD over at Amazon… Season 1, Season 2, Season 3
