NetNewsWire 2.1 public beta

3.17.2006 – 10:31 am | by paul

Thanks to FeedBurner, I know that about 1/3 of the people who subscribe to my RSS feed do so through NetNewsWire. Those people will be happy to know that they’ve released a new beta version (2.1b16). The biggest new feature… NewsGator syncing. Other highlights of this release include performance enhancements, new commands for emailing, printing, and posting to del.icio.us. It’s also now a Universal binary.

I haven’t had a chance to try it myself yet. I’m very curious to know if they’ve disabled .Mac syncing, now that it will sync with NewsGator.

NetNewsWire 2.1 is a free upgrade to all current users.

UPDATE: That was quick. Just hours after releasing version 2.1b16, they’ve released 2.1b17. So, if you downloaded it earlier today, you may want to go grab it again.

.Mac/FTP syncing has not been disabled. (In fact, we fixed a couple bugs.)
