Memoirs of a Geisha

Memoirs of a Geisha

4.5 Stars

While we were in Phoenix for Christmas, we had a chance to catch up on some movies. One was Memoirs of a Geisha. I didn’t really know much about it going in, but I thought it was really good. Anne Marie had read the book, and said it held up pretty well to the original story.

The movie was a bit slow (and long), but the story was very interesting, and the performances were great. I would recommend this one if you are looking for break from action / adventure type movies and just want to see a good story told well. But, don’t go in tired, and make sure to pee before the movie starts. You’re going to be there for a while.

  1. Excellent movie. My best girlfriend and I went to see it a few weeks ago, and loved it. The movie is pretty long, we started to get hungry (quick fix at Olive Garden). But the next day we were both like “we should go see that movie again”, or “I can’t wait till we can buy it on DVD, and with extras.” I would recommend this movie to anyone, some may say its a chick flick, but its good.
