Apple updates its iPod trademark to include video

By | August 2, 2005

According to Engadget, Apple has updated its trademark for the iPod from “portable and handheld digital electronic devices for recording, organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, and audio files” to read “portable and handheld digital electronic devices for recording, organizing, transmitting, manipulating, and reviewing text, data, audio, image, and video files.”

Is there a video iPod just around the corner?

Video iPod is coming, I tell you!

It damn well better not be. I just ordered a new 20GB Color as part of that Apple education / computer promo. My 3rd Gen has bit the dust. It discharges a battery overnight, even my new NewerTech one.

A video iPod will be cool, but I think it will be limited. Probably just to music videos or small things like that. Maybe over time and with firmware updates it will open up.

I would love an Apple PDA… the iPad? I’ve been waiting for one of those forever. I would so love to ditch my old Palm. They were the king of the market at one point, and just let things slip away because the stopped innovating long enough to let Microsoft catch up.
