Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
By paul | July 30, 2005

Tonight we saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I really liked it a lot. Very entertaining. I can’t tell you exactly what made it so good, although I did like the Oompa-Loompa musical numbers. I think a line from the movie sums it up pretty well… “Candy doesn’t have to have a point, that’s why it’s candy”. I think I like this movie for a similar reason. Don’t think about it, just sit back and enjoy it.
The movie has an awesome soundtrack by Danny Elfman. It’s available via iTunes, or Amazon.

Eh, I’ve always thought remakes of old movies were kind of stupid. Just Hollywood trying to suck up more money with the same plot.

I don’t have any intention of seeing this at all, Johnny Depp kinda freaks me out like that.

Hey! I liked it! I saw it today. I think it stayed truer to the book than the first one. :)

I loved that movie. Watched it with my kids today. Johnny Depp did some really great acting, playing this psychotic clown Willy Wonkers. Do yourself a fovor and watch the movie with an open mind. While you watch it, listen closely when your kids burst out with laughter. It’s a great character study and gives everyone much to talk about afterwards.
