San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge

There’s a famous quote attributed to Mark Twain that goes something like “The Coldest winter I’ve ever spent was a summer in San Francisco”. I read an interesting little article yesterday that says recent findings show that Mark Twain never wrote this, said it, or even thought it during his limited time in the bay area. I wonder where it came from?
