William Shatner, James Spader: Boston Legal

Last night we cought the premier episode of Boston Legal, and I must say it was a little disapointing. I really liked the characters when they started introducing them in the Practice, but the show seems to have lost something since then. I’ll probably give it a few episodes, but if it doesn’t get better than last night… it’s out.

On another note, where’s Tracy Lords? I liked her character.

I agree… when Alan was the dark, edgy head-case on a serious drama, he was probably the most complex and best-acted character on TV. But in the context of a comically-overblown circus of head-cases, he pales, and loses something. Spader is still a genius, but the character is not as powerful here.
